Commonwealth swimmer and local girl Melanie Nocher jetted into Belfast today fresh from competing in the Commonwealth Games to launch a new 60cl Ballygowan Pink sports pack into the market place.

The new stylish 60cl pack with sporty cap and sleek design is the perfect size for handbags or gym bags and, for the first time, features the Action Cancer logo. The pack is an addition to the now permanent Ballygowan Pink range, which supports the Marie Keating Foundation and its ‘B Part of it’ campaign partner in Northern Ireland, Action Cancer, to raise much needed funds for breast cancer awareness on the island of Ireland.

Leonie Doyle, Head of Stills Marketing at Britvic Ireland said; “We are delighted to be working with leading local sportswoman and Commonwealth swimmer Melanie Nocher to launch our Ballygowan Pink 60cl pack. The new addition to the Ballygowan Pink portfolio is perfect for busy women such as Melanie and is designed as the perfect size for your handbag or gym kit. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Ballygowan Pink is asking for people throughout Northern Ireland to ‘B Part of it’ and support Action Cancer’s life saving early detection services and education services by buying pink.”

Also speaking at the launch of Ballygowan Pink 60cl, Dougie King from Action Cancer said; “Every time a bottle of Ballygowan Pink is sold in Northern Ireland, a donation is made to Action Cancer. Action Cancer is the only charity in Northern Ireland to offer 1,000 breast screenings every month to women aged 40-49 and over 70. We detect on average seven cancers per 1,000 screened and offer peace of mind to hundreds of others. We are delighted to continue our relationship with Ballygowan Pink and the launch of this new sports pack will raise much needed funds for breast cancer awareness.”

The Ballygowan Pink 60cl bottles are now on shelves in local convenience stores and supermarkets. 500ml and 2 Litre bottles of Ballygowan Pink are also available. Glass bottles are available in pubs and restaurants nationwide in 250ml and 750ml bottles.
