Rugby legend, Keith Wood, was in Belfast to help launch a new advertising campaign from the famous Irish Whiskey, Bushmills®.  Called Bushmills Brothers, it celebrates the experiences, stories and friendships that men share. Featuring real life friends from Belfast and New York the campaign captures those special moments between mates; from that memorable best man’s speech to the time that you followed your team to cup glory – moments enjoyed time and time again over a glass of Bushmills® Irish Whiskey.

Sharing his Bushmills Brothers stories at the launch Keith Wood, said: “For me rugby was the catalyst to many of the genuine, longstanding friendships I have today. And some of these relationships were cemented off the pitch with many a match debrief told at length while enjoying a glass of Bushmills or in my case, a glass of Black Bush. “It’s great that the brand understands the true camaraderie that men share with their mates and it’s exciting to see this brought to life in a fun way through the Brothers campaign. I was lucky enough to meet a few of the Belfast Brothers today and enjoyed hearing their story of how they met. I was impressed to learn that even after 30 years they still manage to get a regular catch up – over a cheeky Bushmills of-course.”

Bushmills® Irish Whiskey Master Distiller, Colum Egan, joined Keith at the launch. He said: “I’m an avid rugby fan so when I met Keith a few years ago I was delighted to discover that despite the fact that we’re sports rivals, he’s from Munster and I’m from Leinster, we both share a passion for Bushmills - there is no better way to tell a few tall tales than over a glass of Bushmills. “Since we’ve been the official Spirit of the Irish Rugby team, it’s been great to share some great Irish victories with Keith over the past few seasons. He’s genuinely one of the Bushmills family now. “It’s fair to say that the Bushmills community has been helping men to bond for as long as we’ve been making whiskey.  That’s over a few centuries worth of anecdotes shared amongst friends – if we could make the whiskey talk, we’d have some tales to tell.” “One of the main reasons Bushmills has continued to grow and prosper is the dedication of the people who make it in the local community and the passion of the people who drink it across the world,” said Jenny Kiernan, Bushmills® Irish Whiskey Brand Manager. “We wanted to encapsulate this by using genuine friends in the Brothers campaign pictured simply hanging out together and celebrating the world award winning Irish Whiskey*.” For more information about Bushmills® Irish Whiskey and the Bushmills Brothers Campaign, please visit www.bushmills.com. Share BUSHMILLS Responsiblywww.drinkaware.co.uk for the facts.
