As part of the Guinness 250 celebrations, two hundred and fifty 'Paul O'Connell' fans converged in Dublin in an attempt to recreate the now legendary 'Have you put the fear of God in them' speech.
Paul O'Connell first uttered those immortal words during half time of the 2007 RBS Six Nations Ireland v England match, but today, 250 Irish Rugby fans, each wearing a Paul O'Connell mask, caught onlookers by surprise as they assembled near St. Stephen's Green, at the top of Grafton Street, in Dublin city centre and started chanting the renowned words.
One of the 250 'Paul O'Connell' fans said, "We want to get behind the team and demonstrate our support ahead of Saturday's crucial tie against England. Paul is certain to make Ireland proud on Saturday, so we wanted to show the team just how much we are behind them as they attempt to secure another win in the RBS Six Nations campaign."
Guinness Brand Manager, Stuart Kinch said, "Guinness is celebrating 250 remarkable years since Arthur Guinness first signed the lease on St. James's Gate in 1759. As a proud sponsor of Irish Rugby, we wanted to do something remarkable, and you really don't get a sight any more remarkable than 250 Paul O'Connell's!"
Ireland will take on England in Croke Park on Saturday, 28th February. Kick off is at 5.30pm.
