Angeline, a 24 year old marketing executive from Kilkeel in County Down will join Trevor Lee, 23, a chemical engineer from County Clare and Reg White, 25, a one time estate agent now trying his hand as a DJ in Dublin.

Each of the lucky candidates have gone into hard training to run one of Europe's most challenging marathons in Davos, Switzerland in July 2009.The story of the team, their training and their participation in the race will be filmed for Powerade's 2009 ‘Never Give Up' television and marketing campaign. The first television advertisement will air in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland at the end of March.

None of the Powerade team has ever run a marathon but their training will include appearances at the Powerade sponsored Great Irish Run in Dublin in April and in the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon in May. They will be helped along the way by a coaching team which includes Hannah Shields, the first Irish woman to conquer Everest and World Cross County Championship medallist Catherina McKiernan.

The three team members were chosen from an original entry of close to 1,000 people who wanted to be part of the third instalment of Powerade's Never Give Up odyssey.

"I couldn't believe it when the call came that I had made it," said Angeline. "Our coach, Hannah Shields is from Derry and she said we girls from the North have to be strong together. I hope I can live up to all of this.""The quality of entries was incredible," said Powerade Brand Manager Aengus King. "Since the campaign began, Powerade has become the fastest growing sports drink in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland with close to 30% share across the Island. We are recognised as the sports drink of choice for regular players and participants in sport at every level from the elite of the Irish rugby team to those who pull on their runners in a bid to get fit.")
